Every result comes with strengths, a shadow side, a growth tip and the character you click with best. Here is a first look at each one.

The schemer
You want things, and you are not shy about going after them.

The conscience
You care about what is right, and you cannot stay quiet when it is not happening.

The reasonable one
You are the one who looks around at the chaos and asks whether anyone else thinks this is a bit much.

The daredevil
You say yes first and ask questions later, if at all.

The sweetheart
You look for the good in people, even when they have not earned it.

The enthusiast
When something grabs you, it grabs you completely.

The organiser
You see what needs fixing and you get it fixed.

The worrier
Your brain is very good at imagining what could go wrong, and it rarely takes a day off.
Every question drops you into an ordinary day in a very strange little mountain town: the school bus breaks down in the snow, the park is about to be paved over, a celebrity is rumoured to be visiting, a substitute teacher clearly has no idea what is going on. Each scenario has four answers and none of them is wrong. Every answer adds points to two of six traits, so the quiz builds a small personality profile rather than counting how often you picked one character's answer.
The six traits are ambition (how much you want to win, lead or get rich), principle (how strongly you react to unfairness), sense (how often you are the calm voice of reason), daring (how quickly you say yes to a risk), sweetness (how much you trust people and want everyone to be happy) and nerves (how loudly your inner alarm rings). Your scores are compared with a profile for each character and the closest one is your result.
Cartman is the schemer, all big plans and bigger confidence. Kyle is the conscience of the group, quick to argue and quicker to stand up for what is fair. Stan is the tired voice of reason who just wants things to make sense. Kenny is the quiet daredevil who will try anything once, and usually twice.
Butters is the sweetheart who keeps trusting people even when he really should not. Randy throws himself completely into every new obsession until the next one arrives. Wendy is sharp, organised and ready to run the student council, the protest and the bake sale at once. Tweek feels every worry at full volume and still turns up for his friends.
Your result page names your character and shows how closely you match, then gives a short reading of what that says about you, three strengths, a shadow side and one small thing to try this week. You also see your runner-up, a ranked list of all eight characters, your six trait scores, the character you would get along with most easily and the one most likely to drive you up the wall.

This is the quick version: 12 questions and eight main characters, made for a fast answer to which South Park character you are. If you want more nuance, the longer South Park personality test on Traitprint has 24 statements, eleven traits and 17 characters, including parents, teachers and side characters. Both are free, and taking one does not change the other.
Many people search for this as a southpark test or simply a South Park character quiz. Whatever you call it, the goal is the same: a fun, honest mirror, not a label. Most people are a blend, which is why the runner-up and the full ranking are shown too.
Each of the six traits is the main pick in exactly eight answers, so no trait is easier to score than another. Before launch we scored many thousands of random answer sets to make sure every character comes up at a similar rate, and checked that answering the way a character would really does lead to that character.
