Find your place on twelve axes.
The 12 Axes political test maps what you believe about government, the world, the economy and society — then turns it into a fingerprint you can share and compare.

Four groups. Twelve independent axes.
Left vs right hides most of what people actually disagree about. Each axis here is scored on its own, from 0 to 100%. Read what every axis means →

Two lengths, same 12 axes
24 questions in three minutes, or all 72 for a sharper read. Every axis is balanced so agreeing with everything doesn't skew you.
A fingerprint, not a bar chart
Your 12 scores become one shape — long petals where you're certain, short where you're torn. No two look alike.
Story and square cards
One tap renders a 9:16 card for TikTok and Stories and a 1:1 card for X, plus a rich preview for any chat.
Challenge a friend
Send a link; they take the quick test and land on a head-to-head with your overlap percentage, axis by axis.
Ideologies and thinkers
Your top five out of 31 ideologies, the three nearest of 19 historical thinkers, a classic 2-D compass and a written reading.
Private by design
No account, no answer logging. Scoring runs in your browser and the result lives only in your link.

Before you start
What is the 12 Axes political test?
It is a free quiz that places you on 12 independent political axes instead of the usual one or two. The axes are grouped into Government (power, rule, liberty), World (nation, force, culture), Economy (ownership, markets, trade) and Society (faith, tradition, technology). You answer 72 statements (or 24 in the quick version) on a five-point agree–disagree scale and get a percentage on each axis.
How long does it take?
The quick test has 24 questions and takes about 3 minutes. The full test has 72 questions and takes 6–8 minutes on a phone. Your progress is saved in your browser, so you can close the tab and resume.
Is this the same as the original 12axes quiz?
No. The idea of a multi-axis test comes from the open-source 8values / 9axes / 12axes family. This site uses its own axes descriptions and its own statements, written from scratch, plus ideology and thinker matching, a 2-D compass, share cards and friend comparison.
How is my score calculated?
Each axis has the same number of statements pointing each way, so simply agreeing with everything lands you in the middle. Strongly agree / agree / neutral / disagree / strongly disagree count as +2, +1, 0, −1, −2 toward the statement's side. Your axis score is how far you went toward one pole as a share of the maximum possible.
How are ideologies matched?
We describe 31 ideologies and 19 historical thinkers as 12-axis profiles and compare them with yours. The match percentage is 100 minus the average distance across all 12 axes, so 90%+ is a very close fit and anything under 70% is loose.
Do you store my answers?
No. Scoring happens in your browser. Your result is encoded only in the link (12 numbers), and we never save answers or results on a server. Analytics record that a test was started or finished — never what you answered.
How do I compare results with a friend?
On your result page, copy the challenge link and send it. Your friend takes the quick test and lands straight on a head-to-head view with your overlap percentage. You can also paste any result link into the compare box.
Is the test biased?
Every test reflects the wording of its questions. We kept statements short, avoided loaded words and balanced each axis so neither side benefits from a habit of agreeing. Treat the result as a conversation starter, not a verdict.
