An archetype is a recurring character pattern that shows up in myths, fairy tales and stories across cultures. The psychiatrist Carl Jung popularised the idea; his colleague Toni Wolff described four basic forms of the feminine in 1951 (the Mother, the companion she called the Hetaira, the Amazon and the Medial woman), and the Jungian analyst Jean Shinoda Bolen mapped seven Greek goddesses onto women's lives in her 1984 book Goddesses in Everywoman. Popular lists of twelve female archetypes build on those ideas.
There is no single official list. Ours covers the archetypes people search for most: the Maiden (hope and beginnings), the Mother (nurture), the Queen (sovereignty), the Huntress (focus and independence), the Sage (wisdom), the Mystic (intuition), the Lover (passion and beauty), the Warrior (courage), the Creator (imagination), the Rebel or Wild Woman (freedom), the Healer (empathy) and the Siren (magnetism).
You rate 48 short statements from strongly disagree to strongly agree. Each archetype has four statements: three that describe it and one that describes its opposite, so simply agreeing with everything doesn't push every score up. The statements are written from scratch for Traitprint — they are not taken from any book, course or other quiz.
Each archetype gets its own score from 0 to 100, where 50 means neutral answers. Your leading archetype is the highest score, and your top three together describe your mix. Most people are a blend: a Queen with a strong Mother side leads very differently from a Queen with a strong Rebel side, so read your second and third archetypes as carefully as the first.
Your result page shows your leading archetype with a reading of what it says about you, three strengths, its shadow side, and one practical growth tip. You also see the myth and goddess parallels for that archetype — Artemis for the Huntress, Athena for the Sage, Aphrodite for the Lover, Demeter for the Mother — plus the archetype it pairs best with and the one it tends to clash with.
Below that, all twelve scores are shown as a ranked chart, so you can see which archetypes you lean on most and which are quiet in your life right now. You can save a share card or send a friend a link to compare your archetype mixes side by side.
Every archetype has gifts and a shadow side. The Mother's care can turn into over-giving; the Queen's authority can harden into control; the Siren's magnetism can become a way of keeping people at a distance. Knowing your leading archetypes helps you notice both — when you are at your best and when you are leaning on an old pattern because it is familiar.
Low scores matter too. An archetype that barely registers may simply not be part of your life right now, or it may be a part of you that hasn't had much room. Many people find it useful to ask what would change if they invited one quiet archetype in.
Archetypes are symbolic, not scientific categories, and this quiz is for self-reflection and fun rather than a validated psychological test. Your scores can shift with your season of life, and that is normal. The quiz is for anyone who relates to these feminine archetypes, whatever their gender. Your answers are scored in your browser and never sent to our servers.

No. Archetypes come from Jungian psychology, myth and storytelling, and they are useful for reflection, not diagnosis. For a research-based model, the Big Five is the standard.
